Abstrak

This research was conducted to find out how to write stories using contextual attachment in grade I students of SMAN 1 Koto Besar. The use of the method was carried out in class 1 as many as 22 people with observation methods, documentation methods and qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that learning to write stories before using a contextual approach obtained an average score of 71.18 while the completeness of 81.82% did not show success indicators then after using the contextual approach obtained an average score of 73.36, while completeness reached 90.91% this proves that improving learning outcomes can foster and develop students' attitudes, interests, atmosphere, and creativity so that learning  writing more meaningful stories, and 3). Solving efforts in overcoming teacher obstacles in teaching story writing skills are carried out by improving teacher competence, providing exercises through assignments to students both inside and outside the school. And emphasize to students to always read a lot and reverence reading in the library to improve the quality of writing ideas, especially writing stories. As well as the implementation of contextual approaches that are always related to the empirical world of students, communication patterns that are negotiable-not instructional, high student participation, construction, and the creation of a comfortable-pleasant atmosphere can turn students into passionate about writing stories.
